long overdue update of deliciousness

I made this delicious green drink for breakfast this morning. I ended up adding a banana, a pear, another apple and used the large english cucumber that had been neglected in my fridge. I need to remember to use up my sad, unwanted veggies this way every once in a while. It's like eating salad in the morning but not as boring!

Make fun of me all you want - I don't normally peruse the Oprah website, but I found it and it looked like a good idear. I was searching for good ways to organize my weekly meals and shop accordingly. I love to cook but I am disorganized and end up spending way too much and barely using what I buy. It's all based on whimsy, not actual planning. So the whole point of cooking (saving money) is nixed in this scenario. A friend of mine mentioned that she plans out her meals, and it seems to work for her. Out came the spreadsheet and voila! It wasn't too painful and forced me to think of healthy meals and get only what I need for the week. I ended up spending way less money than I normally do. Now if I could stick to this, and make it work over and over again... that will be the challenge :)

Saturday, my friend Liz will be in town and I am having some peeps over for dinner, I think I am going to make this falafel recipe. I just bought some israeli pickles (yum, I am pickle obsessed!) - going to serve them along with some hummus and maybe a little cucumber/tomato/onion salad.
